Catalina Dive and Snorkel Tour

Wednesday and Friday

Catalina Island is an uninhabited nature reserve and national park. With its 9.6 square kilometer area it is the second largest island on the south coast.

The journey starts at 8:00 am with a 45- 60 minute trip on a comfortable air conditioned coach along the south coast past the city of San Pedro and to La Romana  where we board the boat. Once on board guests are greeted by the crew and served with local fruit juice and then we prepare the equipment ready for the first dive whilst non divers relax on the upper deck. Around 30 minutes later we arrive at Catalina's first dive site 'The Wall'

The first dive is along a 40m/140ft deep wall.  Appropriatly named “The Wall”. With its typical Caribbean coral formations is one of the most beautiful dive sites the Dominican Republic can offer.

The thick covered top of the reef with its depth between 3 to 7m/10 to 20ft is perfect  for snorkelers. Here you find an amazing assortment of fish, corals and sponges in all colors, shapes and sizes.

After the first dive we have a boat ride along the island to a private beach and drop off snorkelers and other non-divers. The divers stay on board and we depart to the second dive site 'The Aquarium'

Once back on the island guests can then relax under palm trees with unlimited cold drinks and enjoy the BBQ style lunch and bathe in the crystal clear waters. All food and drinks are inclusive for divers and non divers. Catalina boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean

The second dive of the excursion “The Aquarium” is a site that's perfect for beginners because of its maximum depth of 12m/40ft and an awesome dive for experienced divers too with its spectacular visibility and diversity of marine life.

We depart from the island at 3:30pm back onboard the boat where the crew will continue to provide drinks on the crossing back to La Romana where the coach will be waiting.

A stop is made on the journey back to give guests chance to buy gifts at local shops and use the bathrooms etc. Arrival back in Juan Dolio is normally at around 6:00pm

Non-diving guests are welcome too. You will spend an unforgettable day on the beach of this beautiful island.

This is a scheduled trip every Wednesday and Friday but with a group of 4 or more can be made any other day. Discount is available for large groups. Contact us for details.
